About Us

The Asian Educators Alliance (AsEA) is an Asian affinity organization committed to creating opportunities for teachers and school staff from the Pacific Island as well as East, South, Southwest, Southeast, and Central Asian diaspora to meet, network, identify challenges they face as educators, discuss strategies to address these challenges, build mentoring structures, and share ways to support families sharing our identities at our schools.

Our Story

AsEA was formed by educators at San Francisco Bay Area independent schools in December 2004.  In September 2006, a group of educators in the New York Metropolitan Area created AsEANY, a New York affiliate of the organization.

What types of events does AsEA organize and host?
The AsEA annual conference is the only national conference that provides a space for educators from the Pacific Island as well as East, South, Southwest, Southeast, and Central Asian diaspora in independent, charter, and public schools to professionally network, mentor one another, develop leadership within their community, and strategize around challenges faced by educators and families in their schools.

In addition to our annual conference, AsEA hopes to offer local professional development workshops and networking gatherings for educators with these identities throughout the year.
